  1. NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SAMITI, NEW DELHI NVS CCE Automation Software 2012-13 INSTRUCTION MANUAL Prepared & Designed by Shri.Jiji Mathew C, O.S, JNV Udupi Cell : 09448159910, Email : jiji1664@gmail.com, Web: www.jijimathewc.webnode.in

  2. Preface Because of CCE being introduced in the year 2010 from Class VI to X, the number of records to be maintained by a teacher has increased significantly. For a class of 40 students, 4500 marks and 8000 descriptive indicators with grades need to be recorded. This data is largely repetitive as the same also has to be recorded in Mark list, Record Book etc. Computerization can reduce the manual work of data entry to a great extent. So I have attempted to prepare a computer programme for CCE automation. On this occasion I would like to thank Shri. G.S Bothyal, Commissioner, NVS, Shri. T.C.S Naidu, Joint Commissioner (Acad), NVS, Shri. G Arumugam, Deputy Commissioner i/c, NVS, Hyderabad Region, Shri. K.V Suresh, Principal, JNV Udupi and Smt. Rosemol T.J, Vice Principal, JNV Udupi for the advice, help and motivation extended for the successful completion of the programme“NVS CCE automation software 2012-13” Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

  3. Acknowledgement NVS CCE Automation Software 2012-13is a simple program in Microsoft Excel prepared for the automation of record maintenance of CCE at the Vidyalaya level. It was presented in the Principals’ conference held at Keys Hotel Bangalore on 02nd to 05th July 2012. In the conference the software were unveiled by the Hon’ble Commissioner Shri G.S Bothyal. It is decided to implement the software in the 73 Vidyalayas of Hydreabad Region this year. All suggestions, advices, errors & omissions found are welcomed for the improvement of the programme. We belive :“WORK IS WORSHIP” Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

  4. The CD of the NVS CCE Software 2012-13 has been unveiled by Shri.G.SBothyal, Commissioner, NVS, New Delhi on 04th July 2012 in the Principals’ conference held at KEYS Hotel, Bangalore.

  5. General Instructions • Don’t try to crack the program, since it has a lot of macros, formulae, links from hidden sheets, rows & columns • Don’t delete/add any col. Or row in any sheet. • Don’t change the names of the sheets, rows & columns • It has formatted for a legal paper to be printed on laser printers. • The Report Card can be printed in the both sides of a legal size paper. • Grade points should be given in a whole number like 5,4,3,2,1. • Wherever drop down menu is provided, selection must be done only from the drop down menu. • Basic data (Name of the Class, Teachers students etc) should be filled in the Home Page & Student Profile page only. • Doubts if any can be cleared from the instruction manual . If you try to repair yourself may lead to errors. • Suggestions, advices, errors & omissions if found, may be emailed or communicated through the guest column of my web site. Jiji Mathew C Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

  6. The main characteristics of the programme are • It reduces the redundancy of the data entry. • Gives max accuracy in calculations. • Makes presentable reports in uniform format. • Saves the stationary to the tune of 80%. We can reduce the paper usage from 1880 pages to 280 pages for a class by using this programme. • Reduces work load of the teachers. • Provides Graphical evaluation of performance of the student in different exams. As per the existing system each student’s records have to be maintained in 47 pages. ie 47 * 40 students = 1880 pages per class 1880 * 10 classes= 18800 pages per JNV But using this programme: 280 pages per class * 10 = 2800 pages only required for a JNV which will save almost 16000/- per JNV. If this is implemented in 500 JNV * 16000/- = 80 lac. rupees can be saved on stationary in addition to the savings in man power. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation MENU

  7. System Requirement : • Processor : PIV or above • Ram : 512 MB or above • HDD : 1 GB free space or above • Software : Office 2007 or above • Printer : Laser printer preferably.
