  2. WHAT IS DENIM? Denim is a strong cotton fabric made using a twill weave, which creates a subtle diagonal ribbing pattern. The cotton twill fabric is warp-facing, meaning that the weft threads go under two or more warp threads, and the warp yarns are more prominent on the right side. The diagonal ribbing is what makes denim fabric different from canvas or cotton duck, which is also a sturdy woven cotton fabric. www.inviya.com

  4. HOW IS DENIM FABRIC MADE? The yarns can be dyed after cotton fibers have been harvested and spun into yarn. Indigo-dyed jeans are the traditional blue color of stretch denim. You can weave cotton denim on either a shuttle or projectile loom. The shuttle loom makes what is known as selvage jeans. The weft thread is passed in a back-and-forth motion through the warp threads. There are no breaks in the weft. This results in a strong and smooth selvage side. Projectile looms produce non-selvage jeans because they use one weft thread per row, and not multiple threads are woven throughout. This makes the edge more fragile and requires that it be sewn to prevent fraying. www.inviya.com

  5. SIX DIFFERENT TYPES OF DENIM 1. Indigo Jeans: Indigo denim can be achieved by dying the warp threads using indigo dye, while white threads are used for the weft. Blue jeans will be bluer to the right than the interior because the fabric is warp-facing. 2. Stretch Denim: To give stretch denim more flexibility and give it some give, the fabric is made with spandex or another elastic component. For skinny jeans, stretch denim is commonly used. 3. Crushed Denim: This type of denim has been treated to give it a wrinkled appearance. www.inviya.com

  6. SIX DIFFERENT TYPES OF DENIM 4. Acid Wash Denim: To create a marbled appearance, this denim is treated using chlorine and a pumice rock. 5. Raw Denim: This is a fabric that has not been washed after being dyed. This results in a denim fabric with a more rough and rigid texture. 6. Sanforized Jeans: This denim is not shrinking in the wash. This is applicable to all types of denim, except raw denim. www.inviya.com

  7. HOW TO BUY DENIM? Fit - There are many styles and sizes of denim, especially jeans. You have the option of wide-leg jeans or straight jeans. There is also a slim fit. There are many styles of jeans that are in fashion at the moment, such as flares from the 1960s. However, you should always choose the style and fit that you love. Wash - Blue jeans are the most popular denim color, but there are many washes and denim colors that you can choose from. They have a worn-in look that is trendy and are often distressed jeans. Although dark wash jeans are slimming, the dye can transfer to lighter items. While light wash jeans can be a lovely, subtle shade of blue, black jeans or grey denim are more sophisticated options. Denim jackets and shorts are also available in different washes. www.inviya.com
