  1. Diary of Holy Week Important events in the last week of Jesus’ life

  2. Diary of Holy week • Sunday – known as Palm Sunday; scene of the Triumphal entry into Jerusalem • Monday – Cleansing of the Temple • Tuesday – Cursing of the Fig Tree • Wednesday – Preaching and teaching for the last time • Thursday Last Supper; Gethsemane and the Arrest; Trial before Caiaphas and Annas the High Priests • Friday- Trial before Pontius Pilate (early morning); Crucifixion; burial • Saturday – Sabbath Rest; waiting for Sunday • Sunday – Resurrection day

  3. Diary of Holy Week • Palm Sunday – an important day; a day of mixed emotions, joy and praise. Soon it would reveal the fickleness of human emotions and nature – soon it would change to hatred • Monday – Jesus cleanses the Temple; He is annoyed to see the Temple turned into a place of merchandise and trading rather than worship; He sees the intent of the traders, their profit rather than God’s praise and glory. • Tuesday – Cursing of the Fig tree; One of the last things Jesus does is curse this tree; it is symbolic of the unprofitable nation of Israel and how it had refused to be what God wanted and to give him glory.
