Read Bede’s History…English People on pp. 84-88 and answer all questions on p. 88 and questions 1-5 on p. 89. • 3. Read the background to The Canterbury Tales, beginning with “Literary History” and ending with “Before You Read” on p. 95. Define the terms under “Literary Analysis” on p. 95. • 4. Extra Credit: Read lines 1-18 of The Canterbury Tales on p. 97; memorize these lines and be prepared to recite them on Monday, October 4.
