Characteristics • In the oceans , one large body of water covers the earth. • There are five main oceans. • This ecosystem is self-containing with a complex food chain . • Oceans surface water temperature is 28 degree’s. • Wind is most common to cause waves. • People make jewelry from ocean materials.

  3. Location • The Pacific Ocean is the biggest ocean of all. • The Atlantic Ocean is the second largest of all.

  4. Plant Life • Many types of plants grow in the worlds oceans. They float on the water surface. • Seaweed does not have root and stems for support.

  5. Animal Life • Ocean animals are adapted to live at different shelves of the ocean. • The ocean is home to the smallest plankton and has the largest creature on earth which is the Blue Whale. • Billions of animals live in the ocean, many of these animals are fish, tuna, and shark.
