  2. 无气轮胎 • 车轮如果没有鼓胀的轮胎，看上去就会很像老式的木轮马车的轮子。但米其林公司(Michelin)研制的Tweel车轮的特点的确具带有返古色彩。它的减震橡胶车轮轮面将压力分散到数十根具有弹性的聚亚安酯车辐上。这些辐条依次由一个铝心轴支撑。因为这种车轮中没有气体，所以它比充气轮胎更坚固，不会出现爆胎的情况。这种车轮已经在“iBOT3000独立机动系统”(iBOT) 机器人轮椅和军车上进行了试验。但现在你不会很快在你的轿车上看到这种车轮。米其林公司表示，这种车轮产生的噪音仍旧太大，现在尚不适合应用于汽车上。
