  14. Projects regard to Decentralize the city • Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link 16,000 km high-speed railway network The mainland section has cost 16.7 million RMB, Which is approximately 2.5 million U.S. dollars.

  16. Recommendation • The rail link is making contribution to both population decentralization and employment decentralization • Saving travel time between Mainland China and HK • Foster economic growth by creating more job opportunities in Mainland cities and thus support HK with more resources

  21. InvestHK • Establish 2000, a government organization helps to attract and retain foreign direct investment • In 2010, InvestHK has completed 284 projects involving direct investment of some $8.1 billion and the creation of around 3 000 new jobs

  22. Hong Kong Science and Technology Park • Established 2001, a statutory body by the government. It focuses on innovative and technology development • Estimate Phase 3 of Park finish late 2013-16, focus on foster environment and renewable energy technology. • Approximately 5000 related construction job during construction and 4000 R-D related professional positions will be created when Phase 3 construction complete

  23. Project regards to develop traffic in HK • Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) • Problems: • Fail to integrate with infrastructure • Concerns of driver’s privacy • Potential to distract drivers

  24. Recommendation • ITS need focus on public transportation sector as well • Set up a high standard public transport interchanges, develop a public transport passenger information system • Monitoring growth of vehicles fleet • More efforts on environment issues

Technology • The Business Incubation Programmes (Incu-Tech, Incu-Bio and Incu-Design) offered by Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) aims to provide a comprehensive package of assistance for technology and design start-ups. Eligible companies are granted financial aid, rent-free offices or laboratory premises up to 12 months and other forms of assistance. This program aims to foster new entrepreneurship for Hong Kong

  27. Tolerance • Hong Kong International Film Festival(HKIFF) takes places in March and April every year. As one of the oldest film festivals in Asia. • HKIFF values diversity and features a wide variety of films from different parts of the world covering different genres. • Every year the HKIFF shows over 300 films from more than 50 countries
