  2. Aztec religion belong to the Mesoamerican religion. • Basic human sacrifices. • They were polytheistic, believe in many god and goddess.

  3. Powerful Religion • Each god had its name and function • They had agricultural gods • They offer gods with their lives • Their destiny depends on gods’ will.

  4. Aztec Mythology Main gods were Huitzilopochtli, Tlaloc, and Tezcatlipoca. Temples were on top of the pyramids. They had a pantheon.

  5. Religion was very important • They used it everyday • It was into their daily practices, beliefs, ceremonies and dress. • Aztec rulers considered in nature and will Aztec gods.

  6. Gods and Goddesses • Chalchiuhlici one of the important goddesses. • Chantico was the goddess of fire. • Tonatiuh was the god of the sun. • Coatlicue or Teteoinan gave birth to the moon and stars.

  7. Chicomecoat goddess of food and produce. • She is known with three things • 1- young girl carrying flowers • 2- lady who brings death • Mother uses the sun as a guard
