  1. Expressing Obligation with TENER QUE and HAY QUE

  2. To talk about things someone must do , you can use two different phrases that express obligation.Tener que + infinitivo&Hay que + infinitivo

  3. TENER QUE + INFINITIVO • Has a specific subject. • One of the following forms of TENER should be used in the phrase. tenemos tengo tenéis tienes tienen tiene

  4. Ejemplo: Tengo que sacar una buena nota. I have to get a good grade.

  5. HAY QUE + INFINITVO • Is an impersonal phrase. • It is used when there is no specific subject given in the sentence. -Ejemplo: Hay que conectar el ratón al teclado. You have to (one must) connect the mouse to the keyboard.

  6. Práctica: Explica lo que los amigos de Ricardo tienen que hacer hoy. Di si tú tienes que hacer las mismas cosas. • Elena/ esperar a su hermano. • Ana y Luis/ usar la computadora. • Antonio/ preparar su tarea para mañana • Isabel y María/ ayudar a su abuela. • Andrés / hablar con el maestro.
