  1. Some Ways to Hook your Reader: The Essay Introduction

  2. Begin with a Short Summary Write a short summary of The Greatest Salesman in the World or any story that relates to your topic. This essay would be an analysis of the novel. For example: In the novel The Greatest Salesman in the World the main character undergoes many challenges. These challenges teach him valuable lessons. The character Hafid succeeds as a salesman through his challenges and becomes a the best salesman in the world.

  3. Use a Powerful Quote or Statement For example: The author OgMandino in The Greatest Salesman in the World writes: “I will persist until I succeed.” These words are powerful because they represent the way we all must persist in our lives. In my life, my father taught me one of the most valuable lessons about persistence.

  4. Begin with a Vivid Description For example: I am sitting at my desk at ELAC with a blank paper in front of me. The room is damp and the air conditioner rings in the background. As we listen to The Greatest Salesman in the World I think about my own life and the lessons I have learned through my challenges. Hafid becomes a great salesman, and he learns through his challenges. The most difficult challenge in my life has been becoming a parent.
