  5. What is Consumer Information? • Consumer Information in general is information about the institution that must be disclosed to prospective and enrolled students and employees.

  6. What Must be Disclosed • Notice of Availability of Institutional and Financial Aid Information • Contact Information for Assistance in Obtaining Institutional or Financial Aid Information • General Institutional Information • Student Financial Assistance • Student Outcomes

  7. Continuation of What Must be Disclosed • Health and Safety • Voter Registration • Constitution Day • Plans the Institution has for Program Improvements

Suggestions Continued Focus on compliance and communication Develop a single web page on the institution’s website that provides hyperlinks to the HEA disclosure information Adopt a “3-click” approach Use consumer-friendly labels and language whenever possible Use a common set of content titles

  11. When to Disclose • The final regulations are effective July 1, 2010 • Note: Some regulations were effective August 14, 2008 and October , 2009 – It’s never too late to implement • Net-price Calculator has to be implemented no later than October, 2011
