  3. 1. Goals • Derived from mission statement • Operationalized through objectives • Monitoring involves looking back at stated (written) goals and objectives to make sure they are being met

  4. 2. Budget • Tracking expenses • Cost analysis • Monitoring allows adjustments to be made; services may be expanded or reduced

Performance • Participant performance standards are set when objectives for each program are written • Staff standards are set with job description and evaluation • Monitoring helps track performance in these areas: program delivery participation, return rateemployee retention, maintenance timesick days accident ratesmarketing program

  6. 3. Efficiency • Track the ways resources are used • Compare ways to use resources (time, facility, travel) • Monitoring ---Changes/adjustments may be made to improve efficiency
