This provides our students with an additional edge, which is acknowledged and welcomed by the employers of our graduates. Strong encouragement for final year students to do their project on placement company project – company retains any IP. • Given that a large number of staff are involved in research & technology and knowledge transfer activities, ensures that the content of our courses remain at the leading edge of technical development and directly relevant to the needs of the industry. • Industrial Liaison panel for both Computing & Engineering subject areas with both FDI companies and indigenous SMEs as members e.g. CITI, Liberty IT, AllState

  8. Education & Training • Close collaboration with industry has resulted in innovative multidisciplinary Courses such as BSc. (Hons.) Interactive Multimedia Design, M.Sc. Digital Media Communication, and M.Sc. Health Informatics as well as courses and research collaborations with the Financial Services Sector such as the Capital Markets Initiative. Facilitated by Invest NI, this initiative has brought five key players in capital markets together with the local universities to boost research capability and skills across the sector. • MSc Professional Software Development - a conversion course for non-IT graduates - will have TWO intakes this year of over 100 students. • New B.Eng. Renewable Energy Engineering course • MSc in Advanced Composites and Polymers - endorsed by Bombardier as supporting the local aeronautical engineering industry. • Earn As You Learn with Kainos
