  1. Lesson – Environmental control 1/1 Introduction Suggested approach Communicator supports two types of infra-red transceivers; Tira-2 and the Gewa models like, Prog, Micro and Star. The transceivers can be used to control devices as TV, DVD, radio as well as other devices that can be controlled with an infra-red remote control. An Infra-red transceiver is a device that is able to learn infra-red codes from an ordinary remote control. The transceiver can be connected to a PC and controlled from Communicator. This means that the transceiver can replace your remote control and since it can be controlled via Communicator, you will have all the benefits of communicator when operating your electronic devices. Keep in mind that an Infra-red signal requires line-of-sight – this means that the transceiver box must be placed where it can “see” the device you want to operate without any objects in between . 1 How to check if the Tira-2 is properly installed. 2 How to setup Communicator to use a Tira-2 3 How to use Tira-2 to control a TV 4 How to setup Communicator to use a Gewa 5 How to learn a Gewa to replace a remote control.
