  5. ABC ChipsSchool-Wide Positive Behavior Support Chips are given out by adults when they see students performing the expected behaviors. The chips are a tangible reminder for students who are doing a good job. Chips are given out across all school settings throughout the day. Example: “You are doing a good job of being safe because you are walking in the hallway.”

  6. ABC Chip Rewards I will periodically collect the ABC chips that the students have earned. I enter their total into a spreadsheet. We will have a “store” once a month where students can spend their chips. Donations are always welcome! Once a month we have an all school assembly. A student from each class will be chosen to play a game and they can win a prize.

  7. Homework • Homework is an important part of second grade. • Packet comes home on Monday • Due Friday • Reading Log is part of homework...10 minutes per night is required in second grade. • Do not turn in reading logs early. • Students who do not return homework will need to complete it during Fun Friday. • Please let me know by note or email if there is an extenuating circumstance. I know things can happen!

  8. Requests from the office... • Students should be walking themselves to class. If you need to come past the office, you need to stop and sign in first. • If you need to discuss your child’s progress, please phone or email ahead to schedule a time. • School dismisses at 3:10. Students should be picked up promptly.
