The general characteristics of tributyl citrate are clear, transparent, colorless, and oily liquid. Tributyl Citrate can be insoluble in water, but it can be dissolved in methanol and carbon tetrachloride, acetic acid, and many more. It is used in oral pharmaceutical formulations and is regarded as an essentially safe and non-irritating substance.
