CBS Tramore ICT 1998 Standards • No objective standards are provided by the Department of Education and Science • School to oversee standards as part of ICT plan • Leaving Certificate Computer Studies from University of Limerick to be offered for final certification and points. • Competitions and Projects to be encouraged for all students to enhance standards of student work

  14. Formal Timetabling • 1999 Leaving Certificate Computer Studies within Timetable in 5th year • Numbers jump to 32. Only 24 pcs. • Rotational timetable - ¾ weeks • Students left after 5th year – no certification • 2000 Introduce ECDL to 5th year so that everyone gets a Certification • Recreational Computing in 1st and 2nd Year

Projectors € 600 IWB € 5,500 • T.V. x 2 & software €1,500 • E-portal System: Upfront €8,000 Server 4,000 • Annual Administration Costs €1,500 (Software) Adult Education is self financing. Students: ECDL: 1st Years pay €150 (one payment, 2 year course) TYO: €50 5th Yr.: €100 (one payment, 2 year course, includes U.L. Course fees.) CAO points recognised by U.L. & W.I.T.

(DES) • Ongoing training (External & Internal) (ICT POR provides Inservice) • Continuation of IT as a central need of the school: POR (A.P.) • Continuation of excellence in teacher & student computer literacy. All 1st & 2nd Years complete ECDL. (Double period weekly) All TYO complete e-cert & attend 10 week WIT course. By choice 47 out of 82 5th Year students complete L. Cert Computers. • Financial priority but causes financial pressures in the school • CBS Tramore spends €45 per student on an annual basis. • JMB/AMCSS/ACCS recommendation to Minister DES grant of €150 per student to be given to schools.
