Depth Of Field (DOF)

Depth Of Field (DOF). The 4 Controls of DOF. 1.Distance to Subject (Closer =Less) 2. Focal length of Lens ( Larger= Less) 3. f-stop ( smaller f stop # =Less) 4.Sensor size ( Larger = Less).

  1. Depth Of Field (DOF)

  2. The 4 Controls of DOF 1.Distance to Subject (Closer =Less) 2. Focal length of Lens ( Larger= Less) 3. f-stop ( smaller f stop # =Less) 4.Sensor size ( Larger = Less)

  3. Limit depth of field to emphasizes subject and simplify image . • Shot with 200mm lens at f-stop 2.8

  4. Closer to Subject = Less DOF • Shot with 85mm lens @ f 5.6

  5. Further from subject + Wide angle lens = greater DOF • Shot at 28mm Lens @ f2.8

  6. Small Aperture = Large DOF • Shot at 60 mm Lens @ f 16
