  2. Meet Ms. Baranowski • West, Texas! • Sic ‘em!!! • Teaching!

  3. Website • On my website you will find: upcoming due dates, homework, class materials divided by six weeks, notes, reviews, etc! • Please subscribe to get updates e-mailed directly to you!

  4. What does that grade mean? • 0 = assignment was done completely incorrectly, or was turned in beyond the point of receiving credit • m = missing, the assignment was never turned in (calculates like a zero) • blank = grades have not been entered for that assignment yet (has no effect on the grade)

  5. Just a heads up… • We want as many students to attend our end of the year INCENTIVE field trip as possible, but since it is an INCENTIVE field trip, there are certain requirements that must be met… this trip is used as motivation at the end of the year when many students are losing focus and dreaming of summer  • Many moredetails to follow…

  6. Tutorials • Monday, 3:30-4:00! • If additional tutorials are needed, please have your student contact me to schedule an appointment. • Even if your student does not need the information reinforced, this is a great time to get caught up on missing or upcoming assignments!

  8. Grading Policy • 40%: Major Summative • Exams, Major Projects, etc. • 35%: Minor Summative • Quizzes, Current Events, Comp. Books, etc. • 25%: Formative • Warm-ups, Journals, Homework, etc. Some items are subject to flexibility within the three categories!

  9. What about late work? • Late work loses 25 points every day for the first three days it is late. • After the third day, in order for students to receive any credit, they must come to tutoring to make up the assignment. • If an assignment is never turned in, it will be calculated as a zero.

  10. Supplies! • HELP!!! We need supplies for the classroom!!! • NOT REQUIRED! • GREATLY APPRECIATED!  • glue sticks, colored copy paper, construction paper, poster board, Crayola markers, Crayola crayons, Crayola map pencils, scissors

  11. Composition Books • College ruled, one subject • Stay in classroom • Graded every 6 weeks (minor summative) • If a student loses or destroys their comp. book they are responsible for replacing the comp. book and everything in it!!! • Reviews will be sent home!
