  1. PLUSCUAMPERFECTO How to form the verb 1.Use the imperfect tense of the auxiliary verb HABER and the past participle. Ex. Yohabíallegado. I had arrived. 2. It is called the pluperfect in English and describes a past action completed before another past action. EX. The game had already begun when some of the players arrived. BOTH ACTIONS IN THIS SENTENCE TOOK PLACE IN THE PAST

  2. PLUSCUAMPERFECTO • The action that took place first, in the sentence (the game had already begun) is in the pluperfect. • The action that follows it (the players arrived) is in the preterite • 2 past actions: look for the one that happened first, and then for the one that happened second. • These actions cannot exist by themselves.

  3. Conditional Perfecto • Conditional is used with the imperfect. • Formed by the conditional of Haber and the past participle. Ex. Habríaplaticado. I would have talked… • Cannot exist by itself. It relies on the imperfect • The conditonal states what would have taken place if something else did not interfere or made it impossible. • Ex. I would have gone to Spain, if I had the money. • Ex. I would have made varsity baseball, if everyone else wasn’t better t han me.

  4. Future Perfecto • Formed by using the future tense of the auxiliary verb Haber and the past participle. • Used to express a future action that will be completed prior to another future action. • Ex. Maria y Luisa no estarán en la fiesta. Habránvuelto a su casa antes de llegar nosotros • Maria and Luisa will not be present sometime in the future they would have already left before our arrival. • Action 2 doesn’t take place without action 1 • Each future action cannot take place by itself. It needs another future action to happen

  5. Recap • Pluperfecto First action pluperfect and second action preterite. • Conditional – has interference with an imperfect action. • Future Perfecto First action future and second action future.
