    12. Barriers to learning Home Poor health - sent to school when ill. Home anxieties, inconsistencies, separation. Tiredness. What is eaten at home/before school. Weather - inappropriate clothing/footwear. Playing with older children out of school. School Dehydration. Peer pressure. Lesson time - little time to consolidate. Change of teacher/ routine. Impact of lunchtimes. Lack of time to talk through problems 1:1. Overlapping Issues Hunger - basic needs not met. Attitude to learning/motivation. Low self-esteem. Poor listening skills/concentration span. Sweets/wrong foods. Moods. Emotional baggage. Lack of parental support. Lack of opportunities for social interaction. Lack of/poor respect for adults. Poor attendance.
