INTRODUCTION Tube furnaces is a heating device that meets precise temperature control and uniformity requirements. The heating chamber is the titular part of a tube furnace. This consists of a spherical furnace wall constructed of high-temperature ceramic, either built from a single fully cylindrical element or two adjacent semi-cylindrical elements. The ceramic is embedded with refractory heating coils or ribbons to surround a core chamber with evenly spaced heaters. This architecture ensures the highest thermal uniformity level when processing both inorganic and organic compounds.
APPLICATIONS • Typical applications of tube furnaces include the purification, coating, drying, hardening or ageing of samples. • It can be used for annealing, brazing, calcination, degassing, sintering, soldering, sublimation, synthesis, and tempering. • It can be used for thermocouple calibration, in the testing of fuel cells, or in catalyst research.
BENEFITS One benefit of using a tube furnace rather than a chamber furnace is that they are better suited to processing smaller samples due to their smaller volume capacity and fast heat-up rates.
