  2. IGO and NGO Group • Increase in funding for the development of reliable alternative energy sources • Long term • Ex. Cogeneration power • Use standard carbon based fuels but you make them efficient by recirculating waste heat and other waste materials. • Hewlett-Packard proposed data centers next to dairy farms

  3. IGO and NGO Group • More funds for programs in underdeveloped and developing nations to implement alternative energy sources into their infrastructure. • World Bank and World Trade Organization propose monetary support ($22,486,000,000)

  4. IGO and NGO Group • Creating a binding treaty for all developed nations to • Assist in the funding of underdeveloped nations implementing alternative energy sources • Lower their CO2 emissions to 20% less than 1990 levels by the year 2025

  5. IGO and NGO Group • Increased funding for the development of safe nuclear power, and storage of raw and used radioactive material • A ban on the further building of nuclear power facilities until the public can be assured of the safety of this technology • Ex. Micronuclear • Generator is buried and can be easily transported without significant risk

  6. Advantages and Disadvantages • Requires transfer of wealth from richer economies to less developed economies • Benefit : stabilization of climate altering human activity • The risk of catastrophic climate change is a not zero , there is some risk no matter what, some estimates range from 20 to 80 percent chance of catastrophic disaster.
