  3. Poetry Terms • Alliteration • The repetition of the same or similar sounds at the beginning of words. • Free Verse • Poetry composed of either rhymed or unrhymed lines that have no set meter. • Narrative • Telling a story.

  4. Poetry Terms • Personification • A figure of speech in which nonhuman things or abstract ideas are given human characteristics. • Rhyme • The occurrence of the same or similar sounds at the end of two or more words.

  5. Snow Ball I made myself a snowball as perfect as could be I thought I’d keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it’s head Then, last night it ran away But first – it wet the bed. -Shel Silverstein
