The New CHARTER OAK INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY – Size and Program • A 4 section per grade school with 480 K-5 students • Room for 80 PreK students in 5 classrooms • Implementation of the full West Hartford Curriculum • Implementation of the IB-PYP Curriculum • Enhancements unique to Charter Oak – World Language PK-5, Quest 1-5 and Math Quest 1-5

  3. General Timeframes • 2013-14 – Design the new school • 2014-15 – Start construction • 2015-16 – Complete construction • 2016-17 – Open the new school

  4. 2013-14 Timeframes • Faculty and Student Listening Meetings – Sep 13 and Sep 19 • Parent and Community Listening Meetings– Oct 3 and Oct 9 • Concept Design Feedback (end of October/early November 2013) • Meet with Faculty and Students • Meet with Parents and Community • Meet with the Board of Education • Review of Schematic Design (December 2013) • Approval of Schematic Design (January 2014) • Approval of Final Design (June 2014)
