  2. Theme • “Anything you want in life can be achieved by hard work, determination, and a little help from friends”.

  3. Bo Brewster is… NOT A Superhero A Triathlete - IRONMAN -

  4. Beginning • The book begins with Beauregard (Bo) Brewster sending a letter to Larry, from “Larry King Live”. • The novel switches periodically between narration, and letters to Larry. • Bo is beginning to train for his first Yukon Jack’s triathlon. • Bo got mad at his teacher, said something he shouldn’t have, and got sentenced to anger management. • Bo and his father got into an argument and no longer spoke to each other.

  5. Middle • Bo thought at first that anger management wasn’t for him, but later in the story he found that it may not be so bad. • He met a girl in anger management, her name was Shelly, and she later became his girlfriend. • Shelly helped Bo train for Yukon Jack’s triathlon. • Bo trained for the swimming portion at the local pool, so did wyrack. • Wyrack was also entered into Yukon Jack’s triathlon, he was determined to take Bo down.

  6. End • Near the end, Shelly tells Bo her life story, which is a shocking one. • Bo decided to talk to his father, to try and work something out. • The anger management group decided to help Bo at the triathlon. • Bo’s and Wyrack’s teams were neck and neck during the final stretch of the race, the swim was when the winner was determined.

  7. Likes/ Dislikes Likes • There is more than one thing going on at a time, makes it more interesting to read. • Bo’s group helped him out during the big Yukon jack’s Triathlon. Dislikes • The way the story switched from narration to the letters to Larry, made it a little confusing at times.
