Vss. 22-24 – “now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship. For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ Vs. 25 – “Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.” • Trust • Confidence • Dependence • Reliance The Challenge of Believing God

Facing the challenge of believing in God and believing God • Even though they believed in God, some have failed to believe Him in difficult times. • Moses • “Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.” But he said, “O my Lord, please send by the hand of whomever else You may send.” Ex 4:10-13 The Challenge of Believing God

Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” Jdg. 6:14, 15 The Challenge of Believing God

Facing the challenge of believing in God and believing God • Even though they believed in God, some have failed to believe Him in difficult times. • Moses • Gideon • Peter • “Jesus said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night… Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.” Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Peter said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” Mt 26:31-35 The Challenge of Believing God

Dan. 4:17, 25, 32 • Do you believe that how you raise your children is how they will turn out? Pr. 22:6 • Do you believe that church discipline works? 1 Cor. 5, 2 Cor. 2 • Do you believe that we can obey any and every command God gives? Php. 4:13 • Do you believe that your association with evil really corrupts? 1 Cor. 15:33 • Do you believe Christ could return at any time? 2 Pt. 3:10 The Challenge of Believing God
