  4. KNOWING JESUS • Believe the testimony of His disciples • Believe Christ’s testimony about Himself STEPS WE NEED TO MAKE

  5. STEP ONE Believe the testimony of His disciples

  6. Testimony of the Disciples A. According to the disciples, “Who do people say the Son of man is?” Matthew 16:14 • Admiration of Jesus as a great man, a great prophet, has been history’s common verdict • Jesus is the Son of God

  7. Testimony of His Disciples B. How did Peter answer Jesus’ question “What do you as a person say?” Matthew 16:16 • “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” • To know Christ, we must turn to God’s revelation.

  9. The Testimony of Jesus A. What do the Gospels say about Jesus? Luke 1:1-4; 2 Peter 1:16 • The gospel writers were very confident in the truth of what they had written • Peter had to confront doubters and skeptics
