Cuenca, Spain Broad discussion has arisen about sleep in Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the influence of physiopathology and treatment on sleep quality in these patients. OBJECTIVES: 1. Describing the prevalence of sleep habits and sleep disorders in ADHD pediatric patients 2. Finding out if treatment plays a role on them. INTRODUCTION METHODS 74 TREATED 16 NON TREATED 90 ADHD children Referred from Neuropediatrics and Child Psychiatry to Clinical Neurophysiology for performing EEG 64,7% ♂, 35,3% ♀ Aged 5-17 (9,56 ±3,03) Phone or liveINTERVIEWS with PARENTS: Child’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ) – Owens, 2000 OBSERVATIONAL DESCRIPTIVE CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY RESULTS ADHD: more prevalent SLEEP HABITS and DISORDERS (%) ADHD: TREATMENT AND SLEEP (%) In decreasing order of statistical significance For all the comparisons: p < 0,05 TREATED NON TREATED CONCLUSIONS ADHD patients show a high prevalence of certain sleep habits and sleep disorders Treatment for pediatric ADHD improvessome sleep habits and minimize some sleep disorders. Further studies are needed to define the effects of different drugs on sleep. We are on the way of larger samples and more centres involved. References Printed by
