MERIT Mission Statement The mission of the MERIT program is to provide gifted and high achieving students access to an accelerated and enriched curriculum and stimulating learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom that will allow them to achieve intellectual excellence and that will prepare them to successfully compete for academic scholarships and admission to selective colleges and universities.

  2. MERIT Student Expectations Maintain an 85 average in core academic classes. Complete required community service hours each year. Complete a Spanish class each year beginning with 6th grade. Meet or exceed expectations on every section of the CRCT. Maintain an excellent attendance and disciplinary record. Participate in at least one academically-oriented extracurricular activity. Complete assigned homework and special projects. Participate with a serious effort in a minimum of two academic competitions each year.
