Strength in Numbers and Influence A statewide coalition representing: • State and local government, including 1 state agency, 1 city agency and 2 Mayors • 6 Initiative Foundations representing every rural region of Minnesota • 19 child care resource and referral agencies • 23 of Minnesota’s largest philanthropic organizations • 30 statewide youth development, healthy living and social responsibility programs • 34 Head Start grantees • 51 high-profile business leaders • 950 elementary and middle level principals • 1,000 pediatric medical physicians • 5,000 parents representing all 134 legislative districts • 7,500 K-12 teachers • 13,100 small businesses providing quality child care to more than 40,000 families • 43,000 state union employees

  4. An Engaged and Effective Coalition: Thank you! Earned Media: • Investment in early learning was profiled by media as one of the top five priorities of the 2013 session from January through May. • Importance of early learning and the need for scholarships received coverage week after week in articles, commentaries and letters to the editor in major newspapers, community newspapers and radio in communities across the state. Grassroots: • MinneMinds grassroots network: 39,229 supporters • Number of action alerts sent: 37 action alerts (sent to 38,900 grassroots supporters) • Messages in to legislators (tracked): 4,092 • Letters of support to Governor Dayton and legislative leaders: 47 • Petition signatures: 1,792 • Phone bank calls: 364 • Social media: More than 325 tweets and 500 Facebook posts • Letters to the Editor: 40 submitted to newspapers around the state
