  1. 5 Dinosaur Species You Should Know Before Buying Their Fossils The movie Jurassic park intrigued many people and emerged a lot of curiosity in their minds. No wonder why so many people love collecting fossils of dinosaur teeth. Whether from the movie, or from books, you must have heard of the huge Tyrannosaurus Rex, the tyrant king of lizards. But in reality, there are hundreds of dinosaur species. Let’s tell you about 5 of them. 1. Dreadnoughtus schrani This dinosaur species was first discovered in Argentina and is believed to be the largest terrestrial animal to ever walk the earth. Dreadnoughtus Schrani flourished about 100 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous epoch. It was about 85 feet long and may have weighed about 65 tons, which is more than 10 African elephants! Even though Dreadnoughtus Schrani was the largest dinosaur, it was an herbivore and its name means ‘fear nothing.’

  2. 2. Ankylosaurus Ankylosaurus is another intriguing animal that walked on the planet millions of years ago. With a tail that ended in a huge club of bone, spikes on the head and side, and back covered with armored plates, Ankylosaurus was amazingly protected from predators. It was basically a huge combination of rhinoceros and turtle and considered one of the coolest dinosaurs to appear in Jurassic World. 3. Velociraptor Contrary to what Hollywood wants you to think, Velociraptors weren’t much large than turkey, even though they reached up to 6 feet in length. Velociraptors were under 2 feet in height but their trademark large sickle-shaped claws on the second toes and agile hunting made them formidable predators. Even though they were small in size, humans would still have had it difficult to fend off hungry velociraptors. 4. Pachycephalosaurus It is a great dinosaur species majorly known for its hat. Pachycephalosaurus had a bony dome on its head and some of them also had fancy spikes over them. It was believed that they used their domes for head butting like that of modern-day rams. However, their domes were not made for cracking. They were basically to recognize them. 5. Compsognathus This species of dinosaur was about the size of a turkey but had the same raptorial proportions as that of their theropod relatives. Compsognathus ate lizards (as suggested by their fossil). They had whippet-like figures and their small size suggests that their evolution was between birds and dinosaurs. One of the related species indicates preserved protofeathers, which suggests that they may also have had them. The geological history says that meteorite strikes cause catastrophic consequences for life on the planet which may have possibly caused dinosaurs’ extinction. However, their extinction still remains a mystery. Their extinction has been a great topic for discussions and debates. If you are also interested in dinosaurs, you can buy fossils of dinosaur teeth. However, make sure to buy from authentic and reliable sources only.
