  1. James Jones SpaceX talks about New Emerging Technologies James Jones SpaceX says Technology solutions built around artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G provide the greatest immediate opportunities for technology companies to drive new business and revenues. As emerging technologies disrupt businesses, Industry 4.0 in manufacturing and digitalization across all other industries are speeding up deployments of IoT, blockchain, AI, machine learning, cognitive intelligence, deep learning, etc. As these emerging technologies continue to evolve, they are enabling intelligent automation of daily processes, thereby unlocking infinite business opportunities. Enterprises are using mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and sensor technologies to improve flexibility in execution, operating efficiencies, and personal productivity. When it comes down to it, enterprises are going to speed up development of new digital capabilities and functions. Fully harnessing 3D printing technologies, UIs, and applications that are easy to use will give many businesses an advanced competitive advantage. This wireless technology will form the basis of an Internet of Things (IoT), extending the Internets capabilities beyond computers to encompass a wider array of objects, processes, and environments. The 5G technology will improve the performance of the IoT networks, providing more stable, higher- performance Internet connectivity. It will increase the ability of this technology to surpass the traditional computers in future financial applications. If you want to set foot on the 5G, you need to know about Information Security, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning basics, Networking, Hardware Interfacing, Data Analysis, Automation, Understanding embedded systems, and have device and engineering knowledge. Both 5G technology and 6G will be converging on faster computing technologies like photonics, immersive technologies, AI applications like AI personal assistants, interconnectivity between autonomous vehicles and drones, and Internet of Things generally -- far-reaching, really. Computers operating at the speed of light, gene editing, artificial intelligence: The potential of the many new technologies could be staggering. From breathing sensors that could diagnose diseases to low-power devices being charged without wires, this years crop of top upcoming technologies is full of inspirational advancements related to the environment, health, infrastructure, and connectivity. Experts convened by the World Economic Forum and Scientific American spotlight technology advances that have the potential to transform agriculture, healthcare and outer space. CompTIAs Emerging Technologies Community examines how leading solutions providers, suppliers, and customers of leading solutions providers are taking emerging technologies from promise to profit, by adopting AI and IoT to power their operations, provide new solutions, and drive revenues. CompTIAs Emerging Technology Community acknowledges the gap between emerging technologies promise and profitability, and has shifted focus on their annual Emerging Technologies List to reveal top AI use cases and Internet of Things (IoT). These two technologies topped the list for three years running, and for good reason: the use cases highlighting the power of AI and IoT solutions are abundant, helping companies drive efficiencies, reduce time, and drive increased revenues (to name just a few benefits).

  2. Two of those technologies - green ammonia production, and engineered crops that produce their own fertilizer - are both designed to make farming more sustainable, making their way on to this years Emerging Technology List. Self-fertilizing crops, on-demand pharmaceutical production, breathing-sensing diagnostics, and 3-D-printed houses are among the technologies featured in the list. These immersive technologies include AR and VR, virtual reality, and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies which are yet to be created (yet). XR is the new umbrella term for combining these immersive technologies. The inspiration for XR comes from the fact that all these tools are helping to expand the reality that we are experiencing. We can expect to see XR technologies used together with others to address problems in the real world. Peter Diamandis, president and CEO of XPRIZE Foundation, envisions that these mixed-reality technologies could revolutionize customer experiences at retail. The increasing adoption of AR apps on smartphones could make this type of technology a much easier sell going forward. Devices may be able to observe the physical world and provide more precise context to augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (AR/VR/MR) situations, thanks to artificial intelligence-based computer vision and better sensors. Virtual Reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) are two technologies changing how we use screens, creating exciting and novel interactive experiences. The newly announced Microsoft Mesh integrates these mixed reality technologies to create virtual shared spaces for corporate teams to use for meetings or project work. Recently, AI technologies have been used to transform databases into actionable intelligence, and provide answers to customers and stakeholders questions in real-time using chat-style interfaces. Apps using AI also have the ability to monitor large amounts of smaller data such as transactions, sensors, hardware outputs, and derive solutions for improving performance in these areas. Others, such as additive manufacturing, AI, and blockchain, are still being explored for more potential in providing enterprise value at scale. Some of the promising technologies are expected to realise their potential within the next few months as well. Here are some of the other key technologies making their mark today in businesses building custom applications and that you should keep an eye out for. These modern developments have an inherent power to enhance businesses, shift profit margins, and change the way you do business. Edge Computing is just meant for growth, nothing less, creating all kinds of jobs, mostly for software engineers. Previously the hot new tech trend to keep an eye on, cloud computing has gone mainstream, with major players like AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform dominating the market. Look for technologies supporting hybrid work, energy storage, re-cultured meat, quantum computing, carbon nanotubes, blockchain, drones, VTOLs (vertical take-off and landing, or flying taxis), and smart automation. Including the ability for voice recognition within internal and external applications could help to provide a smoother, frictionless user experience, as well as open doors to new markets, as the broader public becomes more familiar with these technologies.
