  2. Region 9 Intern. Director ReportDirector: Jose’ Bolaños • Email requesting activities report sent to the following chapters: Argentina, Colombia, Guadalajara Mexico, Peru, South Brazil • Received 2017 reports from Colombia and Peru chapters only.

  3. Region 9 Intern. Director Report • Colombia Chapter (2017): • Lectures: December 7, 2017, Bogotá, Colombia. Lecture about ​Colombian Aeronautics Studies Center belonging to Civil Aeronautical Colombian Administration and ​research activities in aviation, Mr. Leonardo Gomez, ​20 attendees (15 AESS member and student members). • December 7, 2017. IEEE AESS Christmas Meeting. 14 AESS members The purpose of this meeting was to develop a brainstorming session to identify the activities of divulgation and knowledge of the IEEEand AESS mission into Colombian Professionals and Students. In this session was planned the 2018 IEEE Innovation Challenge

  4. Region 9 Intern. Director Report Colombia Chapter (2018): • AESS Colombia is leading the CALL FOR POSTER “2018 IEEE Innovation Challenge -CANSAT COLOMBIA for peace”. In Association with the mayor public University of Bogota (Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas) with around 25,000 students and its Radio Station (LAUD 90.4 FM) and its Research Network (Red de investigación de TecnologíaAvanzada-RITA) and the Colombian Association of Japan exalumnni (Nikkoryukai) and other public offices. Besides the AESS Chapter of Perú will participate in this event. • CANSAT is the ​acronym of Satellite in a can and it is widely developed around the works since the 2008 inter-universities conference in Hawaii but in Colombia never was developed this tournament. So for us it will e the first time and we want to impact the academy and the government in our country. In a separate report, we will present you details about this event, meanwhile the web page, ran by IEEE Student Branch is: ieee.udistrital.edu.co

  5. Region 9 Intern. Director Report Peru Chapter (2017): • International Conference on Aerospace and Signals - INCAS November 8-10, in Lima, Peru. • No meeting in 2018 to report.

Director ReportDirector: Hugh Griffiths UK&I Chapter • Events: • Prof. Simon Watts 13th Nov 2017 – 25 attended • UK Maritime Surveillance Radars for the RAF 1940–2010 • Prof. Michael (Misha) Sumetsky from Aston University 9th May 2018 – 20 registered to attend • Subangstrom-precise Nanophotonic Devices at the Fibre Surface • Potential future talks: BorgeTorvik - FFI / Nigel Clarke - Land Rover Jaguar Automotive Radar / Alex Charlish - FKIE Structure: Chair: Dr. Matthew Ritchie Vice Chair: Dr. Aaron Jones Treasurer: Federico Lombardi Website has been updated with recent changes to chapter: https://www.ieee-ukandireland.org/chapters/aerospace-and-electronic-systems/ 6 1/4/2020
