  9. A nice man and a nice woman got into their nice car to go to a nice restaurant for a nice meal. The woman asked her husband ‘How do I look?’ ‘You look very nice.’ he replied. ‘That was very nice of you to say that.’ she said. They walk into the restaurant. ‘Ohh this looks nice ‘ said the man, ‘Yes it was a nice idea to come here’ replied the woman. They sat at a nice table and a nice waiter came over to their table. ‘Not nice’

  10. ‘What do you want to eat?’ asked the waiter. ‘Something delicious, can you recommend anything delicious?’ asked the man. ‘ The fish is delicious’ said the waiter. ‘Fish is not delicious to me.’ said the woman, have you got any other delicious food?’ The beef is quite delicious ‘ said the waiter. I like my beef cooked rare said the woman – that is the a delicious wayto cook it. ‘not delicious’

  11. Collocations and Style When words are used together regularly, rules are formed about their use not for grammatical reasons, but because of the association. 'Black and white' appear in that order because of collocation; they are always in that order and to put them the other way around seems wrong. For the same reason we 'make a mistake' when we 'do a test'. The reason for using these verbs with these is that we always do; this is collocation.
