  14. O worship the King, all glorious above!O gratefully sing God's power and God's love; Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.

  15. O tell of God's might, O sing of God's grace,Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,His chariots of heaven the deep thunderclouds form,And bright is God's path on the wings of the storm.

  16. Thy bountiful care what tongue can recite? It breathes in the air, it shines in the light; It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

  17. Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail;Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,Our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend.

  18. PRAYER OF FORGIVENESS – • (in unison) • Adapted from • Catherine of Siena • 1347-1380

  19. Eternal Father, you said, • “Let us make humankind to our own image and likeness.” • You were willing to share with us your own greatness. You gave us intellect to share your truth. You gave us wisdom to share your goodness. And you gave us free will to love what is true and just.

  20. Why? Because you looked upon us and fell in love with us. Love first prompted you to create us: and love caused you to share with us your truth and goodness. Yet your heart must break when you see us turn against you. You must weep when you see us abusing our intellect in pursuit of what is false.

  21. You must cry with pain when we distort our wisdom in order to justify evil. But you never desert us. Out of the same love that led you to create us, you have now sent your only Son to save us. Through Jesus, your perfect image and likeness, you restore us to your image and likeness.

  22. Forgive us, Lord. Restore us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

  26. Prone to wander, • Lord, I feel it • Prone to leave • the God I love; • Here's my heart, • O take and seal it, • Seal it for Thy courts above.
