CHIETA, The Catalyst for Enhanced Skills, Economic Growth and Employability Qualifications Development Overview One of the key steps in the Quality Assurance value chain is: Qualifications Design and Development – needed in order to steer skills supply and training/provisioning Learning should be: Structured via Registered Qualification and Trades, Part Quals, Skills Programmes, etc Recognised via Certificates, SoRs, etc Funded (where applicable, within allocated budgets and criteria) Qualifications Development is a stakeholder driven process: subject matter expertise is required to design and develop: CEP (industry, Labour, etc), DQP, AQP LQDF, QDF Skills Planning kick starts qualification development: Workplace Skills Plan (WSPs) and Sector Skills Plans (SSPs) : profile occupations and skills needs for the identification of areas requiring qualifications design , development and implementation
