  1. How to Create Rhythm Gogo Sonic Freeze Step 1 – Teaching Progression Step 2 – Package Plays Step 3 – Fire and Ice Review – How to Implement Tempos Less is More Lesson 2 – Tempo Teaching

  2. How we Create Rhythm • We use 3 different Tempos to create Rhythm 1. GOGO2. SONIC 3. FREEZE TEMPO CUE = OFFENSIVE SPEED • GOGOTEMPO (FAST) • adding GOGO cue alerts everyone to get set-ready to go!

  3. Gogo Tempo – SEE then go FAST • Use to SEE DEFENSE to pick play – then go FAST “Gogo” = cues fast tempo Play - replaces US State “Gogo” = cues snap count on 1st Go “Gogo” = cues team to get set NOW • *use only core – simple (blocking) and best plays • *use Run Plays - after a first down (runs clock) • Example:“Right-Right’ - “Gogo”(9/0) / 8 • 90 Stretch (spread core – speed run – simple)

  4. How we Simplify and Speed up • SONICTEMPO #1 (FASTER) • 1 word for everything! • Use for 2 min offense (clock management) • Use with read plays (3 plays in 1 - triangle) • Simplifies calls for play with many parts

  5. Sonic Tempo – 1 word to go FASTER • Use to DICTATE DEFENSE by going NOW 1 Word = cues snap count and play 1 Word = for 2 min offense (automatic “Ace” set) • Example:“Seattle-Ray” / Seattle-Ray” • Cues = Ace Right (Ray = “R” names cues Right) • Cues = Sprint Pro Right (Ray = “R” cues Right) • Cues = Seattle 78 (Seattle = “S” Sprint Passes) • Cues =Snap on 1st Go (nothing said)

  6. Freeze Tempo – Look and See • Use to DICTATE DEFENSE with Sonic Tempo then “Look and See” (Qb) to Freeze or Go with Original • Sonic + Look & See = cues Qb to check 1 last time “Freeze” = cues(Qb will call) New Play *Coach Pointing @ Qb= cues go with original play • Example:“Seattle-Ray” / Seattle-Ray” “Freeze-Freeze” “Gogo 998 – Gogo 998” • Original Play =Seattle 78 (Ace Right) • New Play = 99

  7. Step 1 - Teaching Progression • 1st Install & TeachusingREGULAR No Huddle Talk • RUN *example = jet stretch (99-90) • PASS*example = sprint base (Seattle 77-78) • 2nd ADD – GOGO tempo with simple-sound-core • RUN *example= jet stretch run (99-90) “Gogo990-909” • 3rd ADD – SONIC tempo with same simple-core • PASS*example=sprint base pass (Seattle 77-78) “Seattle Lisa” – “Seattle Ray”

  8. Step 2 – Sonic Package Plays • Add Package Plays – SONIC Tempo #2 • RUN and PASS combos *example = Blast Read and Bubble Screen “Tri Left” (3x1) + “Rocket–Rocket” (x2) • CUES =Snap on 1st Go (nothing said) • CUES = Packaged Play: run-pass-run option • Bubble screen Left by #3 rec (Rocket = bubble) • Run Play 64 (Rocket = Twrap Blast Right) • Qb keep out backdoor Left (Rocket = Read Dend)

  9. Step 3 – Freeze Tempo (Fire and Ice) • Add FREEZE Tempo – Sonic with Look & See • Use (Coaches work) triangle Play Calling *example • Rocket (blast read with bubble screen) • Golden Rocket (Play Action bubble Pass) • Syracuse Lisa (75 – sprint left / 3 level flood) • Can Use 2 Point Offense to Install - Learn • China Shift = Simple way to implement (learn)

  10. Review – How to Implement • Start by using GOGO and SONIC Tempos with individual and group DRILL work • Then Implement Tempos as you review playsfrom previous install (Nanu =1stGogo Tempo) • Last - Install FREEZE tempo using 2 pt offense • Use Block Teaching Methodology (see Manual) • Example:Block Teaching – stretch Run – “Gogo 99-90” Pass – “Gogo Lion-Ram” *note – both use stretch blocking (spread core)

  11. Less is More • *Chip Kelly (former Oregon HC / NFL HC) “Do not put a limit on your players’ minds; they will learn whatever you teach them.” • Less said = less to process (bundle calls) • Fun and Fast (yet fundamentally sound) *that’s it – get it / got it / good
