  2. Ideation Definition • Process of creating new ideas from within • Ideas are completely understood in one’s mind, whether it’s visual, concrete or abstract • Formed through any type of thought cyclefrom innovation, to development, to actualization • Integral process to have this type of thinking in our ever expanding world of media

  3. Ideation Example • Doing research, reading a book, or doing a workshop based on interest • Gives you new ideas • Brain connects already existing ideas with the new ideas, to give more knowledge • Create new concepts from within your mind

  4. Iterative Design • Design cycle that involves testing, analyzing and refining a product or a process • Often used in the processes that are used to develop new products • Commonly used in Human Computer Interfaces • Steps that are followed to ensure that the product is ready to be manufactured

  5. Steps • 1) The interfaces must be completed • 2) Tested on several users • 3) Problems that are found within the tests are then addressed and attempted to be refined • 4) steps are repeated until all of the kinks in the product are worked out

  6. Prototype Definition • Early sample/ model, the first unit manufactured • Tested on, so that the design can be altered and improved if necessary • Used in design, electronics, hardware, software • Serves as a basis for what the final product will be in later stages • Tweaked replica of the original design • Design problems and evaluating solutions to give the best quality

  7. Prototype Example • Shark Tank • People go on the show without a full developed product • Anything can have a prototype
