So much is said in the Bible about Fathers. Proverbs 20:7 - The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him. Psalms 103:13 - Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him. Abraham was a father who loved God!.

  1. So much is said in the Bibleabout Fathers • Proverbs 20:7 - The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him.

  2. Psalms 103:13 - Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.

  3. Abraham was a fatherwho loved God! • Genesis 18:19 - For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

  4. Matt. 6 • In Matt. 6, Jesus was with His disciples • and taught them about several things. • He taught them about Giving Alms; About • About Praying; About Forgiveness; About • Fasting; About being Anxious; about trusting in God; and about seeing God • First.

  5. Our Sermon today deals with: • LIVING out the teaching of Jesus on Prayer.

  6. OUR FATHER ..which art in HEAVEN • The address of prayer is to • “Our Father • Which art in Heaven.” • Our Father…Christians can call Jehovah God Father. He is OUR Father.. • and He is in Heaven… • Acts 17:24; Our Father made the world • Eph. 4:1-6 There is Only One

Hallowed be thy name… • We need to remember He is our Father, • And we should show Him our utmost respect, Honor and praise due Him. • Psalms 111:9 Holy and Reverend Is • His Name. • Our Father is the Creator of the Universe • Our Father is Pure; He is Flawless • Are we living like we believe He is!!

  8. Thy Kingdom Come. • Jesus was teaching his disciples about • The approaching of His church, His Kingdom and taught them to pray that it • May come. • When Paul was baptized, it had come. • Col. 1:13 He was translated into it! • We too are in it if we are faithful children of God.

  9. God’s Kingdom comes first. • Matt. 6:33. Those people who are living • Out the teaching of Jesus on prayer, know • How important it is to give God the praise that is so due Him. • Matt. 6:33. Why? Because OUR FATHER, Jesus says, wants us to seek Him first!

  10. “Thy Will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven! • Jesus said: Matt. 26:29..”O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” • Are we living as Jesus taught in His teaching on prayer? • Do we desire , above all things, that the • Will of God be done in earth, as it most • Surely is in Heaven.

  11. Give us This day our daily bread. • Are we living the teaching of Jesus on prayer…by realizing that we only have • One day at a time. • ..Your life and my life is like a vapor. • James 4:13,14 • …Are we anxious about tomorrow…and • Forget “Our Father” provides us daily?

  12. Matt. 6:31 • Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? Or, What shall we drink? Or • Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (v.32 • For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.” • Mtt. 6:33

  13. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors… • Are we living like Jesus taught His disciples to pray.. • Forgive us Lord of our debts, our sins… • Not a day goes by that the teaching of • Jesus on our need for forgiveness is not needed! • I John 1:7 • I John 1:8-10 • I John 2:1-2

  14. “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil… • Oh how we need to pray…and ask God • To keep us from the evil one. • I Pet. 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion,walketh about, seeking whom he may devour…” The devil wants you, He wants me…But God wants you and wants me? We cast the decided vote!

  15. “For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory , for ever. • Do we live like that? Are we obeying Our Father and showing That He alone rules over His Kingdom. • And Has All Power and is deserving of Our glory forever… • Gal. 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ… • Nevertheless I live ; yet not I , but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved and gave Himself For me!.”

  16. Amen • So let it be…. • We know how we are to pray…and we • Know when we pray, we should seek to • Live like we pray. • Are you living by the teaching of Jesus • On prayer?

  17. How many of you men are Christians? • How many of you men want to serve • God with all your heart? • How many of you women in this church • Is completely devoted to serving the Lord.
