Affecting Workplace Mental Health • Date: Monday, February 22, 2010 • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. • (8:00 – 8:45 a.m. Registration and Refreshments) • Location: Canadian Mental Health Association • (240 Grand Ave. W., Suite 100, Chatham, Ontario) • Please join us as we welcome our speaker Hilary Henley, Community Support and Education Team Leader for the Canadian Mental Health Association. • This 3.0 hour workshop is intended for those who have the power to influence or change workplace processes and wish to do so in a way that will positively affect the mental health of workers. • This award winning training is a practical and interactive learning experience delivered only by Mental Health Works Certified Trainers. • Did You Know … • Mental Health is a business issue. • Disability represents anywhere from 4% to 12% of payroll costs in Canada; mental health claims (especially depression) are the fastest growing category of disability costs in Canada. • With early detection and appropriate accommodation at work, the vast majority of people are able to continue working effectively or return to work after an absence caused by mental health. • Stress, burnout and physical or mental health concerns are the main issues limiting productivity in Canada, according to a recent survey of Canadian CEO’s. For those individuals who cancel after the deadline, they may be invoiced the cost of the event if no one on the waiting list is able to take their place.
