DO A BUSINESS ANALYST ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT SUB-PHASE? In the consulting world, the business project that involves technology is split into 2 phases. The sub-phase of the scoping of a project phase is usually split into the Definition, Analysis, and Functional phase. And the sub-phases of the delivery of a project phase generally are parted in a way that this assignment includes Technical Design, Construction, Test phase that includes User Acceptance testing and System Integration Testing. Scope Definition: Here the scope definition is the factor that has to be completed before the project business analyst being assigned the project. In some of the projects, a business analyst has to take initiative and has to complete this phase on his own. But most project managers and the subject matter expert play a vital role in this phase and some cases it is also called blueprinting.
Analysis: Again in this phase, you have to analyze everything that is gathered in the first phase. And here business analysts have to actively take part in the project. Here an analyst has to start analyzing and gathering the requirements whatever is needed and he cannot miss the documents or any data, he has to be confident and focused.
Functional Design: The design phase has split into two phases: functional and technical. In this phase, the elements are designed concerning the data flows, mapping, functions that can be met throughout the design and will be documented.
Technical Design: The name only suggests everything that this phase is related to technology which defines the system and will meet the business requirements documented by the analyst. While the functional part implements the design, the technical part sticks to the technology.
Construction: A business analyst might not play an important role in this phase of the project but it certainly doesn’t mean that he will move to another project or have relaxation time. In this phase, the IT team plays a vital role and they work in this phase and analysts may be required to support the testing preparation along with the project manager.
