The journey • Initial support – sticking plaster, improved stability of the network, timely response to technical challenges. • Funding from the Ian Karten Charitable Trust. • Project plan and network specification carried out by Capita to design infrastructure solution across both sites. • Project implementation and completion in June 2011. • Landmarks’ Karten Centre formally opened in November 2011. The issues • Fundamental changes to practice required. • Skills gap & some resistance. • How to achieve optimal impact. • Ensure appropriate security systems in place – without limiting creativity and innovation. • Policies and protocols – introduced/updated. The future • Currently awaiting re-inspection – due between February and June 2014. • Working with an allocated HMI as part of the HMI improvement service. • Increase the use, integration and impact of technology in teaching, learning & assessment to secure improved learner outcomes. • Develop the sophisticated use of data across the organisation.
