  3. KsheeraBhagyaYojana Best Practices • GOK has introduced Ksheera Bhagya Yojana. 150ml of hot Milk is being provided to all children from Class1 to 10th in Govt and Aided Schools for 5 days in a week. G.H.P.S Sirsi, Uttara Kannada

  4. Ksheera Bhagya (Hot milk) programme is extended to Children With Special Needs (CWSN) who are studying in special schools run by NGOs. Totally 10,567 children of 155 schools are getting hot milk facility. This programme is inaugurated on 01.11.2018 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka.

  6. Rotary, Bengaluru Orchards is involving in developing kitchen Gardens in schools and they have selected 378 schools in Kolar and 1645 schools in Chikkaballapur for this purpose. Snake gourd Grown in G.H.P.S Shidlaghata, chikkaballapur

  13. BestPractices …….Contd Cook cum helpers • There are 117927 cooks are working in Midday Meal Programme. • Only Women are appointed as cooks. Preference have been given to widows, single mother and destitute woman. . • State Government is providing additional remuneration of Rs.1700/pm and Rs.1600/pm to Head Cook and Assistant Cooks respectively along with State Government share Rs.400/-

  20. ISSUES • Cooking cost is enhanced @ 5.35% w.e.f. 01.04.2018, but it is not sufficient to provide quality food. Hence requested to enhance further @ 5%. • Honorarium for CCHs need to be enhanced from Rs 1000/-pm to Rs5000/-pm • MME is enhanced from 1.8% to 2.7% is appreciated, but it is insufficient to meet office expenditure at district and block level and remuneration .for outsource staff . So, it is needed to release separate grant for office expenditure and remuneration for outsource . • Minimum cooking cost should be fixed to the schools having less than 50 students. • Minimum 2 cook cum helpers for Lower Primary school should be employed where enrollment is less than 25.
