  13. 3. 2018 Suggestions Many thanks for completing the survey!

  14. Which events do we want in 2019? Average score out of 5

  15. Roundtable discussion on work / life balance at CERN Discussions between ourselves: more networking events without anything organised e.g. coffee discussions, just lunch, etc. or maybe get audience to introduce themselves at start of talk? Discussions on feminist topics OTHER IDEAS

  16. Thank you for your messages of encouragement and feedback I very much enjoyed every event I could attend! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and thanks for your excellent work!! bravo :-) Thank you for your motivation ! Keep up the good work, I know it's not easy. I love what you are doing and would actually love to be more involved

  17. … and your feedback I thoroughly enjoyed the mentoring programme and will continue to meet up with my mentor in the upcoming year. However, we both noted a lack of structure in the programme itself, would have hoped for more guidance. This is something that could possibly improved next year. It would be great to have talks outside lunch time once in a while. Please start lunchtime events a little later e.g. 12h15 or 12h30... and keep doing what you are doing - it is very interesting! I have enjoyed the WIT events, but does it reach out to all the community? Try to get more men on board of the WIT community, because it is important to have men realise what their female colleagues are going through. Moreover the benefits of a diverse work force are for all, both women and men. Men cannot just stay out of it and have women sort out all the issues.

  18. Do you have a topic to discuss, or a skill you want to share? All ideas encouraged!

  19. 4. Moving Forwards

  20. WIT Community Objectives Improve atmosphere and increase awareness Networking for help, support and career Tools and suggestions to address gender diversity Your responses fell into 3 broad categories

  21. How can we keep WIT going? We know the turnover at CERN is high – how can we create and build a community that continues to grow?

  22. We will miss you! Founder, Inspiring role model, driver, thought provoker…. Thank you Hannah for your contribution and all the best for the future!

  23. Steering Committee WIT is a grassroots community, ideas should always be welcome from every single member (!), but having a SC to help realize those ideas will ensure longevity. Duties • Participate in quarterly and ad hoc SC meetings • Organize yearly WIT Community Review • Support logistics and preparation for a share of WIT Events • Grow the network within and beyond CERN through events, posters, online presence • Suggest a replacement if you have to leave 

  24. Practical meaning of “duties” • Set up the event calendar • Divide work and responsibilities among ourselves • Take care of event logistics and preparations (rooms, dates, material) • Pick up ideas, brainstorm, reach out • Make a difference • Grow your network

  25. Current SC members • Maria Alandes (IT) • Sünje Dallmeier-Tiessen (RCS-SIS) • CoralieNeubüser (EP) • Cath Noble (IT) Can we accept all of these persons collectively for 2019? If anyone objects, please raise your hand. Thanks for all your suggestions/nominations!

  26. Let’s see what 2019 brings!

  27. Just some examples… • WIT Talk with Louise Carvalho (Diversity Office) • IT workshops for kids in Semaine de l’Egalité • WIT Diversity Talk with Tim Smith (IT) • Drinks at CMS! • UNOSAT presentation/lunch • WIT talk with Patty McBride (CMS Deputy Spokesperson/Fermilab) • WIT talk with Ursula Bassler (Council President) • WIT talk with Pauline Gagnon
