  2. Why are cops irresponsibly abusing their power and getting carried away?

  3. Why should we care? • I care because I do not want them to brutally beat any of my family or friends, I do not want kids to have fear in their eyes when they see the cops even if they didn’t do anything wrong. • You should care because one day this could happen to your child, father, mother. So in order to prevent from your family and friends being harmed you should care and try to get cops scared of beating innocent.

  4. What should cops be doing, what is their job? • Cops are suppose to prevent crime. • They're suppose to improve the lives of the people by getting rid of fear and hatred. • They should be maintaining law and order. • They should be the ones creating less fear of crime not more fear.

  5. Number of injuries/deaths by misconduct in 2009-2010 • 5986 reports of misconduct April 2009 - June 2010, and 382 deaths by misconduct in April 2009 - June 2010. • The deaths and numbers of report are very high and should not be happening, 382 people died a unreasonable death because those police officers wanted to abuse their powers that they were given.

  6. Public view on police officers • Many call them corrupt, there are many pictures and videos showing proof of some being corrupt. The corruption is ruining the protective view that police officers are suppose to have on the public. • They can be brutal at unnecessary times • Many who faced the police officers force said it was improper.

  7. Racial profiling • African Americans, young people, singles, and people who don’t get paid much don’t have a good outcome of police fairness.  • 1 in 10 people said that they have been stopped because of their race My skin is not a crime.

  8. Police officers discriminating • Women tend to have more discrimination towards them. • Sexual orientation is very big in discrimination they humiliate you in very harsh ways • Even in the police force men get paid more than women do.

Solution for Police brutality • We could get it so the government makes stricter laws for cops so they cannot abuse their power. • They should get treated the same as civilians if they break the law • They should not be allowed to search random people on the streets because they’re suspicious for no reason at all. • They should get fired and put in jail for breaking laws that normal people would be jailed for. Should have the same consequences.

  10. Solution for Police brutality • We could do all this by protesting and exposing cops doing this, and get famous people to help support our cause. • We should go into schools and educate them about police brutality and teach them their rights. • We could make banners and posters and post them all over the city to get the protests known and for everyone to know the dangers
