  1. Pan Games Information Session Stadium Precinct Hard & Soft Closure Area June 22, 2015 Ignite the Spirit Through a Celebration of Sport and Culture!

Introductory Remarks • Welcome…. • Notice of Meeting • Meeting to talk in particular about Parking • Update the Parking Plan from the March Meeting • Update the final plans for the Precinct • Let you know when and how you will receive your parking permit Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

The Games are Coming! • 18 days until the Games • Hamilton “Soccer Central” • Schedule still the same: • Day 1 is July 11 with 4 games starting at 11:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. • July 12 through to July 23 – 2 games per day (5:30 & 8:30 p.m.) • Medal Rounds: • July 24 – 1 game (8:30 p.m. Women’s Bronze) • July 25 – 2 games (1:00 pm. Men’s Bronze & 6:00 p.m. Women’s Gold) • July 26 – 1 game (1:00 pm. Men’s Gold) • Expected attendance for preliminaries is 10,000 – 12,000 spectators • Men’s gold medal sold out on July 26, 22,500 Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Hamilton “Soccer Central” cont’d • Reminder: • Stadium gates open 2 hours before the start of each game • All spectators will pass through security • Noise disruption during the games themselves will be difficult to predict, but there may be expected noise as crowds depart the Stadium • McMaster University is the Satellite Athletes Village • Transition schedule: • July 5 - July 27, Temporary traffic and parking changes around the Stadium go into effect • July 6 – 10, Teams begin to practice in Stadium • July 11, Residential Parking Program goes into effect • July 11 – July 26, Pan Am Football (Soccer) Event • July 27 – August 6, decommissioning of Stadium Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Vehicle Access –Residents • Reminder: • TO2015/City issued vehicle access pass will be necessary • Goes into effect July 5 – July 27, 2015 • On Street parking will not be permitted in Hard Closure Area • Access passes issued to homes with driveways only (access passes will be assigned to the number of cars a driveway can accommodate (1 spot/1 pass) and does not include lawn parking) • Access passes to hand delivered starting June 29th Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Stadium Precinct – Special Event Resident Parking Program (Local Access Only ) • Resident Parking Program • Includes all streets between Sherman Avenue to Gage Avenue and King Street to Barton Street • Program in effect from July 11 – July 27 • Sign Installation underway • All Streets will be signed appropriately • City parking pass required to park on street • One parking pass per residence • Cars on street with no pass will be ticketed • Residences with driveways will not require a pass Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Temporary Traffic & Parking Changes • No parking on Main St (north side) from Sherman Ave to Gage Ave • No parking King St from Gage Ave to Sherman Ave • No parking Gage Ave from Main St to Barton St • Lane configuration changes - Gage Ave will have a dedicated left turn lane from Main St to Cannon St • Taxi & Coach Bus staging on Gage Ave north of Barton St – still to be confirmed Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Games-time Parking • There is limited parking in the area but there will be Park and Ride shuttle services and enhanced GO Transit to/from Toronto before and after every match • Spectators will be encouraged to take transit to and from the stadium (it’s included with your ticket!) • Spectators are not being directed to Stadium all signage and wayfinding is taking them to the “Park n Shuttle” locations (McMaster & Mohawk) Ignite the Pan Am Spirit… Create the Hamilton Experience!

Resident Services • HSR • #3 Cannon route will be detoured around the Stadium beginning July 5 • DetourEastbound – Cannon St via Wilson St, Sherman Ave, Main St, Gage Ave, Cannon St • Detour Westbound – Cannon St, Gage Ave, King St, Sherman Ave, Cannon St) • Ticket-to-Ride Program: Those with a valid game-day ticket can ride the HSR for FREE on game day • Waste Collection • Waste collection day for the neighbourhood will remain the same • Materials are to be placed curbside for collection by no later than 7:00 a.m. The collection routes may start earlier than usual so as not to impact the Games.

Resident Services cont’d • Daily Litter & Clean Up– Staff will be working jointly for garbage and litter clean up during the day-time hours starting after 7:00 a.m. (includes litter crews, sweeper and flusher truck cleaning) • Mail & Newspaper Services– Will not be impacted • Stadium Deliveries – All deliveries to the Stadium will occur after 7:00 a.m. There should be no overnight deliveries • Resident Deliveries within Hard Closure Area – Unfortunately, there can be no deliveries July 5 – July 27. Only vehicles with proper accreditation will be able to enter the hard closure area. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead if anticipating deliveries.   18. Resident Services cont’d • Emergency Services • In event of an emergency, the Municipal Emergency Evacuation Plan will be put into effect. Plans have been developed to evacuate the Stadium and the immediate area surrounding the Stadium if required. • Emergency Services (Police, Fire, Paramedics) will continue to provide service within the hard closure area. There will be equipped fire personnel set within the hard closure area on game days in order to provide a quick response if required. • Home Services • For residents in the hard closure area who receive home support services, we will work with you to continue these supports within your home as required. Off-The-Field Action Signature Event Sites include: • Gage Park (anticipated opening and second weekend) • Multicultural music, arts/crafts vendors and foods, concerts, arts and Viva Pan Am Junior Soccer celebration for youth. • Including diverse representation of Hamilton’s multicultural communities. (It’s Your Festival presents; CultureMania) • Matapa Music and Arts - World Music Festival • Downtown Soccer Central Pan Promenade at Celebration Square (throughout two weeks) • Main celebration site and viewing area coordinated with Tourism Hamilton & Downtown Hamilton BIA. A main gathering & information area, entertainment, attendees’ participation/activations (ie: street soccer, extreme sport), art displays, food and beer garden. • WaterfrontMulticultural Celebrations (final weekend) • In cooperation with Supercrawl Productions, plan to host concerts including multicultural entertainment, viewing area, vendors, food and fireworks.
