Project Summary • I will design and create all the graphical items for a First Person Shooter using Autodesk Maya, Motion Builder and Photoshop and work with Steve to port them from Maya to XNA. • Concept design • Game design/Storyboarding • Modelling • Object • Character • Level • Animation • Compatibility with XNA

  3. Research to Date • Modelling software choices • Maya • Animation, Shadowing, Rigging, Lighting, Maya Classic Cloth, nParticle. • Motion Builder • Animation, skinning • Tutorials

  4. What I Have Done So Far • Shadowing, Lighting, Rendering • Texturing (diffuse, bump) • Animation using key frame non-linear interpolation • Becoming accustomed with the Maya interface/functionality • Blog • Things to do • Complete storyboards and scaled drawings • Create models of objects, characters, level, texturing, rigging

Measure of success • Complete level (Lobby, training room, two large areas) • Player and two npc characters • Rooms populated with objects e.g. boxes, tables, chairs • Weapons – Handgun, Submachine gun (MP5) • Player animations (walking, running, reloading, dying) • Extra things I’d like • Voice acting, cut scenes to help the story mode • More levels, extend the story, more character designs
