Environment Environment Survey • Let REF team/Ruth Cooper if you have circulated the link • The responses available in an excel sheet on Sharepoint – updated every Friday • Survey is open indefinitely but would recommend a mid/late September internal UoA deadline • REF team can provide updates on who has/hasn’t completed • Institutional environment statement - update • Researchfish data • Interdisciplinary data • Environment Survey – any final changes – last chance before 9am on 22nd July

Unconscious Bias training • 8 sessions: 30th and 31st July; September and October dates • Online training – generic unconscious bias training to be available from end of July • Face-to-face – will consider REF2021/our REF policies and responsible metrics • Selection panel names – please send to the REF team ASAP • Online training can be available to external reviewers, please ask the REF team for details • VCEG separate training

  7. Outputs/Modelling tool • Modelling tool – feedback? • Four further UoAs to be sent theirs today, 10 UoAs awaiting full set of indicative grades • Outputs review for 2019/20 • Outputs eligibility checks or OA compliance – any questions?

REF2021 Submission system/Symplectic • Awaiting full details of the REF2021 Submission system • Symplectic – improved functionality to directly link to the REF2021 submission system for staff and outputs • Symplectic upgrade in August 2019 • Autumn: DoRs to use Symplectic for outputs/staff – training in first week of November • Impact: will be uploaded directly into the REF2021 Submission system

Deadlines – June/July 2019 UoA Deadlines OUTPUTS ASAP:Indicative grades STAFF 24th June: Independent Researcher lists ENVIRONMENT 31st July: Submit first draft environment template REF team Deadlines OUTPUTS ASAP: Release modelling tool STAFF ASAP: Circulate Individual Circumstances form July: Circulate Independent researcher forms/confirmation ENVIRONMENT June: RM19 template for overview – “concerns, risks etc.,” Early July: circulated collated information for institutional environment template
