  2. Lithuanian Scientific Society • The Lithuanian Scientific Society (Lithuanian: Lietuvių Mokslo Draugija), was a scientific, cultural, and educational organization that was active between 1907 and 1940 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

  3. Lithuanian Academy of Sciences • The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (LAS) was founded on 16 January 1941. Vincas Krėvė-Mickevičius was the first President of LAS.

  4. Lithuanian Academy of Sciences • The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences is an autonomous, state-subsidized scientific establishment, which brings together the most distinguished Lithuanian scientists as well as foreign researchers, whose academic activities are related to Lithuania.

  5. Tadas Ivanauskas • Was the most outstanding naturalist of Lithuania, Academician of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, doctor of biological sciences (Dr habil.), Lithuanian Science Prize Winner and the Honoured Man of Science.

Tadas Ivanauskas Important works : • Established natural sciences visualdevices laboratory Zootom. • Participated in scientific expeditions into Northern Russia and Norway. • Opened Lithuanian school. • Together with Konstantinas Regelis organized Kaunas Botanical Park. • Together with his wife started organizing annual „National day of birds“ and „Tree planting“ days. • Opened one of the first bird banding stations in Europe, at Cape Ventė.

  7. Mykolas Biržiška • Was a Lithuanian editor, historian, professor of literature, diplomat, and politician, was one of the twenty signatories of the Act of Independence of Lithuania.
